However, as of this year, she realized that there is a crucial foundation that goes deeper than the materialistic aspect of it all. That key foundation includes dedicating the proper time and creating new healthy habits that prioritize the wellness aspect in all areas of her life! This is why Diva is here to announce her latest endeavor in bringing the best out of your slay: Slay’Care Sundays!
With this initiative, Diva aims to showcase the importance of exercising self-esteem, self-love, and self-confidence with techniques and routines to bring out the overall best in you, your mind, body, and soul. Using the 8 pillars of self-care: physical, nutritional, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, financial, and environmental; Diva extends her vision of luxury and proper self-care to include more than just vacations, travel, shopping, and the expression of style, to encompass its more nuanced properties.
Starting Slay’Care Sundays has always been an important idea for Diva as she feels it’s something many people can relate to and draw inspiration from. The journey to learning how to be softer and patient with oneself, and building the foundations of self-grace. Sharing her own personal story, the practice of self-care is a topic that Diva takes very seriously:
“Even though fashion and travel are my life, and will also be a part of this journey, I wanted to highlight the importance of recognizing, practicing, and prioritizing the importance of nurturing self-love traits and habits. Full transparency, as I am a woman who consistently prioritizes the pampering aspects of self-care – nails, hair, vacations, waxing, etc. – I admittedly never dedicated that much time to work on the internal aspect.”
Diva expresses that her struggles with hyperpigmentation have pushed her to focus heavily on the physical aspects of self-care while also touching upon the peace of mind that travel and fashion bring, only briefly mentioning the inner work she’s done in various other areas. However, this year, she’s committed to finding an outstanding balance of all 8 pillars of self-care:
“The woman I am today, being more self-aware, knew I needed to pivot and change my mindset. This year, while still engaging in the pampering aspect, I’m also prioritizing new healthy habits that include skin and face routines, exercising, etc. I’m also prioritizing new healthy habits for my self-love journey – buying journals to script and manifest in, planners to be more aligned daily, and financial budget books. I found it’s best actually to execute a lot of these habits before sunrise!”
